ILLUSTRATIVE APPLICATION BASED ON PUBLIC REQUIREMENTS
This conditional illustration uses public documents. It is not a ConstructQuant client, completed project or account of local project experience. No project quantities or prices are assumed.
Select the occupancy-specific alteration document path
Single-family prescriptive alteration using the designer-selected 2025 compliance path. Registered versus non-verification forms are distinguished; no nonresidential generalization. Blank sample is not a filed project. The designer selects forms, climate zone, compliance path and performance values; estimate is not modeling, certification or field verification.
Keep insulation layers and replacement scope separate
Match each tag to the drawing assembly and separate the insulation layers. For a replacement opening, measure demolition and the replacement assembly from the issued documents; net added glazing area alone is not the purchased window quantity. Escalate conflicting R-values or tags to the designer rather than selecting a compliance solution.
Reconcile compliance fields with procurement quantities
Prevents a net compliance-area field being mistaken for procurement scope and keeps two insulation layers from collapsing into one line. Field-to-takeoff mapping for CEC alteration documents differs from Washington selected-credit equipment inclusion.
Trace the document into the estimate
- Official basis
- California Energy Commission: Occupancy-specific alteration certificate and field definitions. 2025 single-family CF1R-ALT-01-E sample, January 1, 2026; CF1R-ALT-05-E non-verification alternative revised May 1, 2026. ALT-01 pp. 1, 5 and 9: framed insulation, replacement fenestration, field definitions; ALT-05 applicability p. 1
- Project documents
- Actual designer-issued CF1R, wall/roof sections, window schedule and demolition/replacement plan.
- Documented condition
- Framed-surface fields distinguish cavity and continuous insulation; replacement-fenestration fields distinguish area removed, area added and net added.
- Affected scope
- Separate cavity/continuous insulation layers; removed and replacement opening assemblies; verification responsibilities only when assigned.
- Possible estimate items
- Cavity insulation SF by specified assembly; continuous insulation SF separately; removed glazing/assemblies and replacement units/area; agreed verification allowance only if assigned.
| Decision | Inspect | Possible scope row | Check before pricing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cavity versus continuous insulation | CF1R framed-surface tag and wall section | Separate insulation SF by specified layer | Use the issued specification; do not select an R-value. |
| Replacement fenestration | Removed/added/net fields and window schedule | Demolition and full replacement assembly rows | Net added area is not the purchase quantity. |
| Document responsibility | Selected CF1R path and project scope | Testing/verification only if assigned in bid | A sample form is not a signed compliance record. |
Source references and limits
Blank sample is not a filed project. The designer selects forms, climate zone, compliance path and performance values; estimate is not modeling, certification or field verification.
This proposed estimating resource does not determine engineering/design, permit approval, insurance eligibility, environmental design, legal applicability or code-compliance certification. Refer project applicability and design decisions to the responsible designer, authority or operator. This is a resource boundary, not a separately confirmed exhaustive company service exclusion.

Remote services and agreed deliverables
ConstructQuant provides quantity takeoff, material takeoff, cost/priced estimates and bid estimating remotely for projects across the United States. Remote coverage does not imply physical offices, local teams or local project history. The agreed project scope determines the services and outputs included.
Excel, PDF and quantity worksheets are supported deliverables. Marked drawings, material lists, scope notes and other outputs are project-dependent. Only deliverables included in the project’s agreed scope are promised.
Workflow: Plans/specs → Scope review → Quantity/material takeoff → Pricing/cost estimate where requested → QA/review → Final deliverables
Send the issued plans/specifications and the estimate purpose for scope review. Identify the requested trades, document revisions and any unresolved details before agreeing the output package.
