ILLUSTRATIVE APPLICATION BASED ON PUBLIC REQUIREMENTS
This conditional illustration uses public documents. It is not a ConstructQuant client, completed project or account of local project experience. No project quantities or prices are assumed.
Check the matching approval revision and use limits
Only if the responsible designer selects this evaluated non-HVHZ system and confirms the matching approval revision, substrate, roof covering and project acceptance. No product endorsement, blanket Florida/HVHZ applicability, universal lap factor, uplift design selection or assertion that a historic revision is current approval.
Separate the base sheet, cap sheet and attachment
For a detail specifying the two-ply arrangement, keep separate base and cap material rows. Price selected attachment and lap coverage from the issued detail, not one generic underlayment area. If roof schedule and approval revision differ, retain the discrepancy and obtain clarification before pricing a substitution.
Resolve schedule-to-assembly differences before substitution
A roof-area total alone hides whether the specified package has one membrane or two and whether attachment accessories are included. Approval revision, non-HVHZ limits and a documented layered assembly make this more useful than a generic roofing material list.
Trace the document into the estimate
- Official basis
- Florida Building Commission product-approval portal: Sharkskin Underlayments non-HVHZ evaluation report. FL40958 R1 evaluation report 9058 dated December 28, 2023; illustrative dated document, not a current project approval recommendation. Report pp. 4-5 Table 4; pp. 11-12 limitations; R0 portal record is not used as an R1 authorization
- Project documents
- Roof schedule, selected approval revision, underlayment specification and issued installation/roof assembly detail.
- Documented condition
- The report describes a two-ply adhered tile-roof arrangement with mechanically attached Sharkskin Ultra base and self-adhered Ultra SA cap; steel-deck arrangements identify screws and stress plates.
- Affected scope
- Distinct base/cap membranes and the selected attachment package; roof covering/support design remains separate.
- Possible estimate items
- Base-sheet membrane SF; cap-sheet membrane SF; selected fasteners/caps or screws/plates; lap-adjusted procurement coverage from issued layout.
| Decision | Inspect | Possible scope row | Check before pricing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two-ply detail | Selected base/cap arrangement | Separate membrane material rows | Do not price a single generic sheet. |
| Deck attachment | Specified substrate and installation document | Fasteners/caps or screws/plates as selected | Do not mix attachment methods from different assemblies. |
| Approval mismatch | Roof schedule versus matching approval revision | Clarification before a firm substitution allowance | Keep HVHZ and current project acceptance outside this illustration. |

Remote services and agreed deliverables
ConstructQuant provides quantity takeoff, material takeoff, cost/priced estimates and bid estimating remotely for projects across the United States. Remote coverage does not imply physical offices, local teams or local project history. The agreed project scope determines the services and outputs included.
Excel, PDF and quantity worksheets are supported deliverables. Marked drawings, material lists, scope notes and other outputs are project-dependent. Only deliverables included in the project’s agreed scope are promised.
Workflow: Plans/specs → Scope review → Quantity/material takeoff → Pricing/cost estimate where requested → QA/review → Final deliverables
Send the issued plans/specifications and the estimate purpose for scope review. Identify the requested trades, document revisions and any unresolved details before agreeing the output package.
